Information for use in direct marketing

Enterprises that use address lists for direct advertising are responsible for updating their address lists with the Central Marketing Exclusion Register.
Companies and organisations applying address lists have an independent responsibility for updating these lists in accordance with the information in the Central Marketing Exclusion Register. These market participants are required to update their lists within one month prior to use.
Terms for receiving data from the Central Marketing Exclusion Register:
- The information from the register can only be applied to update registers to be used in direct marketing.
- It must be stated whether the data is going to be used for updating the marketers’ own register only, or if the recipient intends to update other registers as well.
- A recipient who is going to update others’ registers, must report this to the register. In such cases, the recipient must also document that they have created a valid data processor agreement with the principal.
- The recipient must comply with the requirements of the Personal Data Act for data security and internal control.

Fees
You can order a one-time delivery or subscription of data from the Central Marketing Exclusion Register. The entire register is included upon each delivery.
Fees for access to the Central Marketing Exclusion Register are
- daily update (subscription) of one’s own register: NOK 24,600.00 kroner per year
- daily update (subscription) of one’s own and others’ registers: NOK 65,600.00 per year
- single purchase of data sets for the use in one’s own register: NOK 2,100.00 per purchase
The fees are adjusted on 1 January each year.
Delivery and technical description
The file can be delivered through an SFTP account. A detailed technical description showing the contents of the files we provide can be submitted on request.

Ordering
To access information from the Central Marketing Exclusion Register, the agreement must be completed, signed and submitted to the Brønnøysund Register Centre by post or e-mail.
