Make changes to your general partnership?

If you want to register new information on your business, you will find approaches for different changes here.
You can change your address by submitting the form Coordinated register notification in Altinn.
New business address
The business address for a partnership has to be a Norwegian street address or name of place.
If you change the address to another municipality, you must form a new partnership agreement. Unless the new partnership agreement has been signed by all the partners, the partnership meeting has to approve the change.
When changing to another municipality, please enclose
- an updated partnership agreement
- minutes from the partnership meeting, unless the new partnership agreement has been signed by all the partners
New postal address
You are not obliged to report a separate postal address. If you want to have your mail sent to another address, you can register it as a postal address.
You report change of partners by submitting the form Coordinated register notification in Altinn.
You have to form a new partnership agreement. If all the partners have not signed the partnership agreement has not been signed after the change, the partnership meeting has to approve the change.
You must attach
- an updated partnership agreement
- minutes from the partnership meeting unless the partnership agreement has been signed by all the partners
- declarations from the partners that resign, where they consent to the fact that the resignation will be registered in The Register of Business Enterprises

The board is elected by the partnership meeting
You must attach
- minutes from the partnership meeting showing the decision
You register a new name by submitting the form Coordinated register notification in Altinn. You have to form a new partnership agreement.
Minutes from the partnership meeting must be enclosed unless all the partners have signed the partnership agreement.

All role holders can report their own resignation. When you resign, you waive all rights and obligations belonging to your role. You have to notify us about your resignation through the form Coordinated register notification in Altinn. Once the resignation has been registered, both the company and you will be notified of this.
When the company changes the signature, you must report this in the form Coordinated register notification in Altinn.
You must attach
- minutes from the partnership meeting showing the assignment of signature
It must be clearly stated from the minutes that the signature is assigned, and whether it is assigned jointly or separately.
You cannot register a direct conversion from a general partnership into a limited company. You must therefore
- register the new limited company
- strike off the general partnership
In order for the conversion to be tax-free, the limited company must be established and notification of this sent to the Register of Business Enterprises during the period 1 January to the end of June in the income year, and tax deductions and employer’s National Insurance contributions are calculated and made no later than 1 July.
