Demerging co-operatives
Last updated: 6 November 2021.
Demerger of co-operatives takes place when one company is divided into two or more enterprises.
The acquired company can be dissolved by transferring all assets to two or more enterprises, so that the original company seizes to exist. Alternatively, the acquired company keeps parts of the assets, while other parts are transferred to one or several other enterprises.
The acquiring company/companies can be established as a result of the demerger, or parts of the acquired company can be transferred to an existing company.
