How to register a co-operative

A co-operative has to register in the Register of Business Enterprises.
The enterprise must register within three months from the signing of the memorandum. In order to register the enterprise, you have to fill in and submit the form Coordinated register notification.
The case will be under processing by one of our case officers within ten working days.

Attachment requirements
There are several types of documents you have to attach when registering a co-operative.
Documents you always have to attach when registering an enterprise are
- the memorandum of association, including the statutes
When depositing money you must enclose
- a declaration from an auditor or a financial institution confirming the payment of the contributed capital
If the contribution consists of non-liquid assets, you have to attach
- the opening balance sheet, signed by the founders
- a declaration from an auditor confirming the payment of the contributed capital
If the enterprise’s object includes banking or insurance activity, you have to attach
- approval from the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway

Members of the board and any auditor and accountant must confirm that they have taken on the assignment. They do this by signing the form Coordinated register notification.
